The Mulberry Tree on Pirogovskaya: Childhood Memories
- The Mulberry Tree on Pirogovskaya: Childhood Memories
- All six courtyards in our neighborhood block were interconnected, creating the perfect playground for us to play "Cossacks and Robbers" and sprint in massive circles across the entire area. We would chalk arrows along our route on the pavement, leaving a trail for the opposing team to track us down.
- Right in the center, where all the courtyards met, stood a majestic mulberry tree. We spent countless hours perched in its branches. To this day, I still love eating these berries. Do you remember that sweet, nostalgic taste?
- It felt incredibly strange to see that same mulberry tree after so many years. It has grown into a massive, towering tree, making the surrounding five-story buildings look surprisingly small and short.
- I promise that as soon as this sweltering heat wave subsides—it is currently well over +30 degrees—I will take a trip down to Pirogovskaya Street. I’ll take some photos of our old courtyards and the mulberry tree to share with you. Besides, I have so much more to tell you about Pirogovskaya, so stay tuned for more stories!
