Ode to the squid at Roux Cafe. Noordhoek. I have a special relationship with squid. As a child, I was not very disposed to seafood, although my mother adored fish. She took real pleasure in eating fried steers. When my children were growing up and squid carcasses were available in stores, I often cooked them and I know that they only need to be boiled for a few minutes, otherwise, they will turn into inedible rubber. But Africa, Cape Town, and Noordhoek appeared in our life. And in Noordhoek in the entertainment village - the center of the Region there is a cafe called RU.
