Friday news from Limassol. August 2024.

I don’t have any particularly interesting news from Limassol today. Summer continues.
Yesterday morning on the beach where I go every morning to swim, right by the shore I saw a strange thing. At first I thought it was a stick. It was floating right at the water’s edge. It was 50-60 cm long, elongated and it seemed to me that it was greenish, maybe because of the color of the water. But when I stepped into the water, it turned out that it was a fish! Now I went to Google and found something that looked like it:
“The bluespotted cornetfish (Fistularia commersonii), also known as smooth cornetfish or smooth flutemouth, is a marine fish which belongs to the family Fistulariidae. This very long and slender reef-dweller belongs to the same order as the pipefishes and seahorses, called Syngnathiformes.”

During the week we did the usual things – children. help to Sylvia with the restaurant.
I finished a new work, which I called “Noordhoek Love”.

This is a reminder of Rada’s house in South Africa. Now I am pleased to look at this work, it seems that I am at home, in the kitchen.

We hardly communicate with the African children – they are busy, they have lessons at school.

У мене сьогодні немає особливо цікавих новин з Лімасола. Літо продовжується.
Вчора вранці на пляжі, куди я ходжу щоранку плавати, прямо біля берега я побачила дивну річ. Спочатку я подумала, що це палиця. Вона була прямо біля краю води. 50-60 см завдовжки, витягнута і мені здалося, що вона зеленувата, може, через колір води. Але коли я ступила у воду, виявилося, що це риба! Тепер я зайшла у Google і знайшла щось схоже на це:
“Голубий корнет (Fistularia commersonii), також відомий як гладенький корнет або гладкорогий, — це морська риба, яка належить до родини Fistulariidae. Цей дуже довгий і тонкий мешканець рифів належить до того ж загону, що й морські риби та морські коники, який називається Syngnathiformes.”

Протягом тижня ми займалися звичайними справами – дітьми, допомагали Сільвії з рестораном.
Я закінчила нову роботу, яку назвала «Noordhoek Love».

Це нагадування про будинок Ради в ПАР. Зараз мені приємно дивитися на цю роботу, здається, що я вдома, на кухні.

З африканськими дітьми ми майже не спілкуємося – вони зайняті, у них уроки в школі.
