November 2004 Orange Revolution

Image
November 2004 Orange Revolution (These are the experiences and thoughts of that time, but in fact, there was a coup and another oligarchy seized power) It is incredibly joyful for us, the pupils of the country of advice, children, and grandchildren to fight for the truth, relatives who have absorbed their mother’s milk for public speaking for the truth, and are incredibly happy to be involved in the manifestations of their own dignity with normal and healthy people who came out o n the Maidan today! It’s a happiness to realize that young people were able to feel something that is inaccessible to us, that every person is worthy of respect and everyone can defend their right! Governments are chosen in order to serve their people, and if their actions are not legal, all normal communities can point out errors to them and not agree, that is, limp. Is truth and honor reigning in our society? Will the bandits in power stop robbing the people of our country by privatizing strat...

Gallery. The troubled times are coming.

Image
The troubled times are coming. 2004 was very busy, a lot of work was going on in the gallery. Each exhibition was accompanied by preparation, work with sponsors who helped us deliver artists' artworks from other cities, provide them with accommodation for the duration of the presentation, then, of course, send the artworks home. There was enough hassle, but the gallery had already begun to act as a well-established mechanism. But all good things come to an end someday. And although we kept our beautiful ship under sail for another 5 years, the flow on board still made itself felt. Times are changing and nothing remains the same.

IVAN MARCHUK. PAINTING. ODESSA MARITIME ART GALLERY

Image
IVAN MARCHUK. PAINTING https://www.interesniy.kiev.ua/…/velikiy-hudozhnik-ivan-ma…/ I was very, very lucky to be personally acquainted with Pan Ivan. Unfortunately, I don’t remember where and when we met, but thanks to this, I managed to negotiate with Marchuk and bring to Odessa an exhibition of this great artist of Ukraine. Ivan Marchuk in 2007 was included in the list of 100 outstanding geniuses of our time according to the British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" I well remember the moment when pan Ivan came to the gallery to follow how his masterpieces would be weighted. He liked our space so much that he with pleasure ran around the halls, wore work. He kept an eye on the right places and he was very energetic and cheerful. There is a series in his works that was made in some magical and incomprehensible way for me, the smallest volumetric strokes, similar to the embroidery stitches with which he forms his image. When I tried to find out how he does it, he had ...

Turkey. All-inclusive!

Image
Turkey. All-inclusive! That year, Radu and I went on our birthday to Turkey to a resort in which, as they say, "all-inclusive"! I t was a useful interesting experience. I realized that I did not share the joys of such a vacation. I was scared by the behavior of people. Once I saw a very unpleasant scene. A girl of 12-13 years old, with rather round shapes, went to the table with desserts, and it was lunchtime. She did not dine in the literal sense of the term but chose a huge plate of cakes for herself. Having quickly them, she went to the table for another portion. Parents tried to stop her. But it was not there. The adult girl made a real hysteria about this in front of everyone present. I really like swimming in the sea and I do not like shared pools. Immediately upon arrival, I ran to the beach and plunged headlong into the sea and immediately jumped out like scalded. I did not imagine that the sea off the coast of Turkey is so salty. My eyes began to bake, a...

London

Image
London This time we celebrated New Year with Radu in London. I really enjoyed our trip. I fully felt what the EMPIRE means. Entrance to the main museums of London without a fee, they say, the cost of visiting is paid off from the royal court. And what treasures are gathered there from all over the world, this is simply incomprehensible to the mind. Thinking about the treasures collected in the museum, imagining what a long way they traveled in order to get here and appear befo re the eyes of millions of visitors, I sincerely felt the greatness of imperialism. The first time I saw an exposition of Assyrian culture, I was struck by the Egyptian hall, and I also got acquainted with the amazing collection of Africa. All museums were very close to our hotel and it was not difficult for us to get to them. Walking along the streets of London and seeing for the first time all those cultural monuments and sights of London, about which I told texts in English classes, I got incredibl...
