April 2025, Limassol. My flowers.
How many times have I told myself that I don’t want to get attached to anyone or anything anymore, and here it is again… This week I persuaded Radu to buy me hydrangeas. It’s very expensive, but due to the isolation and limitations of our life on the island, I need to find inspiration somewhere. The busy streets of Limassol are not inspiring, and the black sand beaches are simply depressing. And now I have new pets! Every morning I talk to them, in addition to the two hydrangeas, I also have tiny pansies, they, like my children, smell great in the morning. But yesterday, after I talked to the flowers and got down to work, disconnecting from contemplation for a couple of hours, I suddenly discovered that my beautiful chameleon hydrangea had shrunk all over, its petals had wilted! Oh, what a mess it was, you can’t imagine! But Radu is a real doctor of plants – he feels them. He gave our girl a bath and nourished her roots by putting them in water.
