Nessebar. The next stop on my journey was the Bulgarian town of Nesebar. I really liked this town and now, when I have been living in forced immigration in Cyprus for the second year and getting acquainted with the culture of the island, I can say that the villages and buildings of Cyprus remind me of Nessebar. Nesebar is an ancient city and one of the largest seaside resorts on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, located in the Burgas region. Nessebar, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Black Sea”, is a rich museum town with over three millennia of ever-changing history. The small city consists of two parts, separated by a narrow man-made isthmus, with the ancient part of the settlement on the peninsula (formerly the island) and the more modern part, hotels, and later developments on the mainland side.
