Червень. Спека, Гості.

Літо на Кіпрі у розпалі. Повернулася спека, але цього року скаржитися не можна, бо вона прийшла лише у червні.

Море прекрасне, ходимо вранці плавати. А в обід вся ситуація нагадує мені приємні дні на дачі на Кароліно Бугазі- ситуація дуже схожа. 

Говорили з Георгієм, що тут не вистачає тільки звуку поїзда, що наближається. На Бугазі хлопчаки зазвичай у цей момент підіймалися на пружинне ліжко, що стоїть у саду для того, щоб подивитися та визначити, який же поїзд їде — пасажирський чи вантажний. Георгій цього не пам'ятає- він у той час був зовсім маленьким.

Не тільки обідній час нагадує про Одесу та Бугаза, а й те, що до нас збираються гості! Незабаром прилетить наша Рада. У Кейптауні зараз зима, а їй хочеться погрітися на сонечку. Так що ми тепер помінялися місцями — раніше сірої одеської зими ми збігали в тепле літо Кейптауна!

І ще ми тепер перетворилися на літній табір для Георгія. Школа закінчилася, тому він приїжджає до нас і за домовленістю намагається знаходити собі заняття без того, щоб сидіти в гаджетах. І я скажу вам, у нього це виходить.

June. Heat, Guests.

Summer in Cyprus is in full swing. The heat has returned, but this year we can't complain, as it only arrived in June.

The sea is wonderful; we go swimming in the mornings. And at lunchtime, the whole atmosphere reminds me of pleasant days at the dacha in Karolino Bugaza – the atmosphere is very similar.

Georgiy and I were talking about how the only thing missing here is the sound of an approaching train. Back in Bugaza, the boys would usually climb onto the spring bed in the garden at that moment to watch and determine whether the train was a passenger or a freight one. Georgiy no longer remembers this – he was very little at the time.

It's not just lunchtime that reminds us of Odessa and Bugaza, even the fact that we have guests coming! Our Rada will be arriving soon. It's winter in Cape Town now, and she wants to bask in the sun. So now we've swapped places—before, we'd escape from the gray Odessa winter to the warm Cape Town summer!

And now we've become a summer camp for Georgiy. School's out, so he comes to stay with us and, as agreed, tries to find activities that don't involve screen time. And let me tell you, he's succeeding.
