Summer in Limassol. June 2025

Summer has arrived, yes. At 6 pm the temperature is 33 degrees. This year the summer has spared us. Last year it started not in mid-June, but in April and lasted until October.
I am slowly adapting. It used to seem impossible to me to go for walks in the summer, but now I have found a window! I get up at 6 am and go for a long walk, then to my beach and swim. I try to change my schedule and change my rituals every day. One day – yoga and swimming, the next day – promenade and swimming. The sea here is not our Black, it is saltier and it holds. You don’t expect it to. Now I understand those who hang far from the shore and just hang there. And I swim and count my strokes. This allows me more time in the sea!
I have been learning Greek with Duolingo for the second year. As before, there is no one to talk to. I only hear Greek when I’m driving and I already have some familiar songs.
The kids have finished school. Now we have a new job, taking Theo to the Skate Park, by the way he’s making great progress, and Georgiy comes to us to relax from his busy school days.

У нас настало літо, так. О 6 годині вечора температура 33 градуси. Цього року літо пощадило нас. Минулого року воно почалося не в середині червня, а у квітні і тривало до жовтня.
Я потихеньку пристосовуюсь. Раніше мені здавалося, що робити пішохідні прогулянки влітку неможливо, а тепер я знайшла собі віконце! Піднімаюся о 6-й ранку і йду на тривалий прoменад, потім на свій пляж і плаваю. Намагаюся міняти графік та щодня міняю свої ритуали. Один день-йога та плавання, на наступний променад та плавання. Море тут не наше Чорне, воно більш солоне і воно тримає. Це ти від нього не чекаєш. Тепер я розумію тих, хто зависає далеко від берега та просто висить там. А я ж плаваю та рахую свої гребки. Це дозволяє мені більше часу в морі!
Навчаю грецьку разом із Дуолінго вже другий рік. Як і раніше говорити нема з ким. Чую грецьку тільки під час поїздок на машині і у мене вже з’явилися знайомі пісні.
Діти закінчили школу. Тепер у нас нове заняття, завозити Тео до Скейт парку, до речі він робить великі успіхи, а Георгій приїжджає до нас про відпочиває від напружених занять у школi.

"The Last Tango" Art Project, by Tatyana Binovska Vera Kholodnaya was a real star of silent cinema and photographs with her image came out in mass print runs. The exhibition featured more than 200 photographs. Vadim Vadimovich Kostromenko, the permanent director of the Odessa Film Studio Cinema Museum, gave us several boxes with an old film. We pulled a fishing line throughout the gallery, hung files with legends about the life and death of V.Kholodnaya on it. You know, it turned out that it is very important that our viewers are very fond of reading, and later on at the next exhibitions I used this feature. The Cinema Museum provided a camera and a projector for use at the time.  The centre of the hall, so modern and cold, we separated with a thin muslin, which became the border between the past and the present.
